This finish was a long time coming - Bill Yosses and I have been hard at work in this tome for the better part of a decade. But, believe me, I will be the first to say that helping Bill adapt his recipes for Warm Molten Vanilla Cakes, Chocolate Caramel Tart with Sea Salt, Candied Bacon Peach Cobbler, and (my personal favorite) Fresh Coconut Cupcakes with Orange and Rum, making them easily recreated by bakers of all skill levels, was a delightful way to spend the time. The book is chock full of insider tips and baking advice from the White House pastry chef (dubbed "The Crustmaster" by President Obama) which is sure to inspire all - whether you wish to create show-stopping desserts, pick-me-up cookies, creamy puddings, or pies suitable to serve to the leader of the free world. A perfect finish, indeed.
